You can trust your denturist in North York

Your dentures need daily TLC just like natural teeth. To keep your dentures looking and feeling their best, proper cleaning and maintenance is critical. But even with proper care, your dentures may occasionally need repairs and we can help.

There are many reasons that call for denture repair, including a crack in the base, a chip in the tooth, or even a missing tooth in your denture. Luckily, many of these issues can be fixed in a matter of a few hours.

Contact Victoria Village Denture Clinic in North York, so we can assess the damage and come up with the best solution for you.

Denture Relines

Your jaw bone shrinks over time, and eventually, your dentures will begin to fit differently than they used to. Sometimes, that means they’ll be loose and maybe even uncomfortable. When this happens, it might be time to reline your dentures. For many patients, this results in an incredible improvement in the comfort and wear of their dentures. To perform a denture reline, your denturist will take an impression of the tissues in your mouth. They’ll then add a new acrylic base to your dentures based on the impression so they fit just right.

Most patients benefit from a denture reline every one and a half to three years to keep their denture fitting comfortably and correctly. If you come to us for your denture relines, we’ll perform the job right on site. We often do relines during the first appointment of the day so your denture can be returned to you by the end of the day.

Do you think it’s time to repair or reline your dentures? Don’t wait! We’re here in North York to fix any problems and ensure your denture fits nicely.

These are some signs it’s time for a denture reline:

  • They feel loose
  • Food gathers under the denture
  • You’re getting more sore spots on your gums than usual
  • It feels like air is trapped under your denture

Q&A

How much does a denture repair cost?

Cost of repair is dependent on the extent of the repair. A more extensive repair, including if reinforcement needs to be added, teeth need to be replaced, or if impressions/moulds need to be taken, etc. will typically result in a higher cost. The best way to get a more precise estimate is to contact us directly.

What is a denture reline?

Denture relining involves adding new pink base material to the tissue side of your denture to ensure a snug fit. First, your denturist needs to take an intra-oral impression inside your existing denture to complete the reline.

Relining will only affect the fit of your denture–it won’t change the appearance or address and wear of the denture teeth.

How long does a denture reline take?

Denture relines can often be completed within one day. We like to book reline patients into the first appointment of the day to have an impression taken with their denture. That way, the denture can be relined and returned to them by the end of the day.

How much does it cost to reline a denture?

Similar to denture repair, the relining cost depends on the extent of the job. In some cases, we simply need to reline a layer of acrylic to refit the denture. Other times, a more extensive process including replacing the entire base is needed.

The best way to know a specific detailed cost is to book a free, no-obligation consultation.

How long will a soft reline last?

For most patients, a soft reline lasts for 1-2 years. A hard reline can last two years or longer. If your gums are changing rapidly, you may require more frequent relining.
